The short version

DOWNHILL is free. No account, nothing to buy.
Play fair: no cheating, no rude initials, no messing with the game.
Never play while skiing, riding a lift, driving or crossing a street.
LONG DOG, DOWNHILL, THIN COVER and our line FROM FIRST CHAIR TO THE LAST CHAIR belong to us. Share your runs, but please don't copy the game or make things to sell with them.

Who we are

DOWNHILL is a free game made by THIN COVER, a ski clothing brand from Idaho ("we", "us"). It runs at play.thin-cover.com. By playing, you agree to these terms. If you are under 13, or under the age of majority where you live, please read them with a parent or guardian, who agrees to them for you.

Playing

The game is free to play. There is no account and nothing to buy in it.
Play fair. Do not cheat, change the game's code, use bots or scripts to post scores, flood or overload the game server, or try to get around its limits.
Enter 3 initials, not your name, and nothing rude. The game blocks rude initials, and we remove any we miss.
2-player rooms are for racing someone you know. Only share a room code with people you want to race.
Play safely. Never play while skiing or riding, on a lift, while driving, or anywhere you should be watching where you are going.

High scores

A championship score can go on the public TOP 10 with 3 initials, the score and an optional home mountain. The boards are public. We may remove any score, for any reason, including scores we think were not earned fairly. The all-time board resets every November 1, and the recent board only shows recent scores. A small ski area's name may show as its state, province or country. How we handle this information is in the privacy note.

What belongs to us

The game, including its code, pictures, pixel art, sounds, music, the LONG DOG character, the course designs and the title art, belongs to us. THIN COVER™, DOWNHILL™, LONG DOG™ and FROM FIRST CHAIR TO THE LAST CHAIR™ are our trademarks, along with the THIN COVER logo.

You are welcome to share screenshots and videos of your own runs, and to link to the game.
Please do not copy, sell, rehost or change the game, and do not use LONG DOG, DOWNHILL, THIN COVER, FROM FIRST CHAIR TO THE LAST CHAIR or the logo on products, in other games or apps, or in any way that suggests we made or approved something we did not, without our written permission.

Names and data from others

The course names honor real runs at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, Idaho, where THIN COVER began. DOWNHILL is not affiliated with or endorsed by Silver Mountain Resort.
The home mountain list comes from OpenSkiData / OpenSkiMap.org under the Open Database License. Ski area names belong to their owners, and a name on the list does not mean that ski area is connected to us. See the ski area list credits.

No promises

We work hard to keep DOWNHILL fun and running, but the game is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, pause or end the game, a feature or a board at any time, and we do not promise that it will always work, that it will be free of errors, or that scores will be kept.

Limits on responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using, or not being able to use, the game. Some places do not allow these limits, so some of this may not apply to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States.
